Why Badger Hollow Wind matters:

  • Major clean energy milestone: This is Wisconsin’s first proposed large-scale wind project in more than 10 years. With 118 MW of new clean energy capacity, Badger Hollow Wind helps us reduce the use of harmful fossil fuels and meet Wisconsin’s net-zero energy goals.
  • A big win for local communities. The project will bring $64 million in local investment, create 200 jobs during construction, and provide steady lease payments that help farmers stay on their land.
  • Designed with community input. and are using technology that reduces nighttime light impacts.
  • Lasting local benefits. Once complete, Badger Hollow Wind will deliver $590,000 in annual utility aid payments to Iowa and Grant counties, which could help pay for community priorities like safer roads, new fire trucks, or lower local taxes.
