Columbia Wind is a 277 Megawatt (MW) wind farm proposed for Columbia County. If approved, this project will bring real benefits over the course of its 30 year life, including:
- $41.6 million to fund local priorities such as new infrastructure and emergency services
- Reducing Wisconsin’s reliance on dirty fossil fuels and the harmful air pollution that comes with them
- Helping farmers diversify their income streams and keep farming families on the land
- Promoting energy independence and cheaper energy bills as coal and gas get more and more expensive
