Shari Eggleson was born in Milwaukee and has lived in Wisconsin all her life. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, receiving a B.A. in political science and psychology, and a J.D. in 1978. While in law school, Shari was an intern in the Public Intervenor’s office. After law school, she worked briefly with the John Muir Chapter of the Sierra Club before taking a full-time position with the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Environmental Protection Unit, where she worked until her retirement in 2008, enforcing the state’s laws governing air pollution, water pollution, solid and hazardous waste management, shoreland and wetland protection.
Shari and her husband, Mark, a retired DNR park ranger, live in solar-powered home on the shore of Lake Superior in Bayfield County. Shari loves to bike, ski, canoe and sea kayak, as well as garden, cook, travel and read. She is a proud member of a number of Wisconsin environmental organizations, including the Sierra Club, the Alliance for Sustainability, Citizens Climate Lobby and the Superior Rivers Watershed Association. Shari is happy to be a member of Clean Wisconsin’s board and Legal Advisory Council.
