Michael Williams is Bear Clan from the Oneida Nation. Michael is a Codification Attorney with the Open Law Library, where he works with Tribal and other governments to publish digital law libraries and modernize legal materials, including codes, resolutions, and court decisions. He is an Attorney Co-Researcher of the Tribal Court of Appeals Project and has lectured in the Center for Law, Society and Justice at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Currently, Michael is pursuing a First Nations Education Doctorate from the University of Green Bay. Michael earned his J.D. from University of Wisconsin Law School, where he focused on Federal Indian Law, worked in family law clinics, and helped organize the Coming Together of Peoples Conference. He holds a B.S. in Psychology with a Certificate in American Indian Studies from UW–Madison. Rooted in Oneida community and values, Michael’s work bridges law, technology, and education in service of Indigenous communities.
