House passes Permit Act
On Thursday, December 11, the House of Representatives voted to pass H.R. 3898, the PERMIT Act. The legislation takes aim at the Clean Water Act, allowing polluters to discharge toxic chemicals like PFAS and pesticides into our waterways with minimal oversight. It also fast-tracks wetland destruction and makes it hard for states and tribes to protect critical bodies of water under their jurisdiction.
