Overview
A new 300 MW solar farm is being proposed in Dunn County, and we need your help to get it approved by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. The project will improve nearby water quality, generate millions of dollars for local communities, and move Wisconsin closer to our state’s clean energy goals.
Why support Muddy Creek Solar?
- 85% of the proposed project area is currently being used for corn and soybean farming. By transitioning to solar farming, Muddy Creek Solar will reduce nitrogen and phosphorous in nearby streams and ground water.
- Muddy Creek Solar will contribute $1.6 million per year in utility aid payments to the Town of Spring Brook and Dunn County. That’s $48.3 million dollars over the 30-year life of the project that can go directly where the town and county need it most.
- Muddy Creek Solar will improve health across Wisconsin by replacing dirty energy generation and the air pollution that comes with it.
2026 is shaping up to be the biggest year for clean energy in Wisconsin’s history. Muddy Creek Solar is the first of many projects we will ask you to support this year. Please look out for clean energy action alerts from Clean Wisconsin in your inbox and take action to show the PSC that Wisconsin supports clean wind and solar energy.
