As a climate solutions advocate, farmer and scientist, Chelsea is passionate about building healthy and sustainable communities.
Chelsea directs the Climate, Energy & Air Program at Clean Wisconsin, where she advances strategies related to renewable energy and energy efficiency, building decarbonization and electrification, transmission, clean transportation, air pollution, and regenerative agriculture. At Clean Wisconsin, she has helped launch initiatives on natural climate solutions, clean buildings, and rural solar and wind energy. Chelsea has strong relationships with nonprofits, state agencies, farmers, and other key decision-makers and diverse stakeholders across the state. She is a respected thought leader, frequently contributing to advisory groups and currently serving on the steering committee of the Clean Economy Coalition of Wisconsin.
Prior to joining Clean Wisconsin, Chelsea led the Climate & Energy Initiative at the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters where she fostered strategic dialogue and shared tools to advance climate solutions. Previously, as a scientist in the Stockholm Environment Institute’s Climate and Energy group, her portfolio ranged from local (crafting a carbon neutral plan for Seattle) to international (presenting at international training workshops on climate change mitigation).
At her organic produce farm in the Driftless Area, she pairs sustainable food production and conservation. This hands-on experience allows her to carry unique insights into the interactions between agriculture, climate, and water into the Capitol. Chelsea’s multicultural and interdisciplinary background make her a natural translator between different people and topics.
Chelsea holds an M.E.M. in Global Change Science and Policy from the Yale School of the Environment and a B.A. in Atmospheric Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
