Fortifying Wisconsin Waters Against Runoff

Thanks to Clean Wisconsin and Senator Chuck Chvala’s legislative committee, the Nonpoint Pollution Act was in 1992 created to combat nonpoint pollution from urban and farm runoff. This act protects against erosion, gives the DNR priority to projects in watershed areas, and gives the Department of Agriculture authority to correct any poorly draining areas. These rules and act protect Wisconsin’s rivers and lakes from harmful runoff.
