Crandon Mine Threat to Wolf River

Starting back in 1976 when the Exxon Company found minerals near the mouth of the Wolf River, Clean Wisconsin lobbied against the mine, organized with tribes in the area, spoke with hunting and fishing groups in Wisconsin, and worked with businesses that opposed the mine. In 2003, the case was officially closed when the Potawatomi tribe purchased the land, including the mining site, so it could never be developed.
