Video Producer 

Salary range: $58,000 – $67,000

Join a team of passionate environmental advocates and experts who are committed to protecting Wisconsin’s natural resources. Clean Wisconsin is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit seeking an experienced videographer, editor and storyteller who will help uplift the voices of Wisconsinites who are fighting for a cleaner, more sustainable and equitable future. 

As Clean Wisconsin’s Video Producer, you will work our Communications Director, Strategic Communications Specialist, and team members from across our organization to create timely, relevant and compelling videos that engage viewers around key environmental issues in Wisconsin. Our environmental videos show how people in every corner of Wisconsin are working to build a clean, healthy future one business, home and farm at a time. You will create short, social media-friendly videos that grow our audience and produce longer-form documentary-style videos that help explain complex topics and support key programs.  

We rely on a range of communication techniques to reach the widest audience possible and move people to take action on important environmental issues. From Clean Wisconsin’s legacy newsletter the Defender, now in its 53rd year of publication, to emails and action alerts aimed at our network of more than 15,000 email list subscribers, to hands-on outreach and events, our strategy relies on a varied approach to reach the diverse audiences we serve. Our Video Producer plays a key role in our overall communications strategy and development. This position will be based in our Madison, Wisconsin office but requires statewide travel as needed. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee video production from concept to delivery, including planning, shooting, editing, and post-production. 
  • Manage creative assets and maintain video and production equipment. 
  • Generate story ideas, cultivate contacts and relationships for future stories.  
  • Create graphics and animations to enhance video production value. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, at all stages of production.  
  • Produce promotional/grant videos as needed. This includes digital advertisements, fundraising campaigns, grant submissions and videos for special events. 
  • Manage special event livestreaming and recording. 
  • Maintain a commitment to accuracy in all work. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

  • At least three (3) years professional experience overseeing creative video production from concept to completion, including shooting, editing, post-production, graphics and captioning. 
  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere. 
  • Skilled at generating story ideas and conducting interviews. 
  • Creative approach to storytelling using compelling video, soundbites and natural sound. 
  • Able to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines. 
  • Able to take feedback and edit work products in an efficient and timely manner. 
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator a plus. 
  • Able to interact effectively, appropriately and compassionately with people inside and outside our organization.

REQUIRED EDUCATION  

  • A degree in journalism, broadcast media, video production, or a related field preferred 

Salary range for the position is $58,000 – $67,000 commensurate with skills and experience. Benefits package includes health and dental insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan with a 6% employer match, life insurance, short and long term disability insurance, and paid vacation and holidays.
