Amber Meyer Smith oversees Clean Wisconsin’s issue advocacy efforts, government relations, and local efforts to promote clean water, clean air and clean energy. Smith coordinates priorities and aligns organizational resources to meet program goals. Serving as Clean Wisconsin’s principal strategist, she directs policy formation and advocacy for the organization, maintaining strong relationships with decision-makers throughout the state. She is currently a member of the Governor’s 2019 Climate Change Task Force and the WI DNR’s Waste Materials and Management Study Group.
Prior to joining Clean Wisconsin in 2008, Smith served as legislative liaison for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and as chief of staff in the Wisconsin State Senate. These experiences provided her with an intimate knowledge of policy and program implementation at the administrative level. Smith is a Fox Valley native and graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
