Alexandria Baker, Foundation and Grants Manager, has always loved Wisconsin’s vast and beautiful landscape. A Wisconsin native, Alexandria continues to hone her passion for the outdoors, as bike commuter in Madison, trail hiker through Southern WI, and kayaker in Lake Superior.
Alexandria is a graduate of Bard College with a degree in French Literature. After graduating, Alexandria spent a summer working on an organic vegetable and flower farm in the Pyrenees, before moving to New York City to work in both book publicity and on a number of urban farms. Alexandria returned to Wisconsin and spent a season teaching urban farming at the Goodman Youth Farm through Community Groundworks. Last year, Alexandria worked in Portland, OR, as a publicist for sustainable and biodynamic wineries and local restaurants, and as a writing teacher for Literary Arts, a literacy non-profit. Alexandria is excited to be back in Madison, writing and continuing to explore Wisconsin’s bounty of natural beauty.
Favorite things to do outdoors: hiking, yoga, biking, and kayaking.
