Working for strong EPA carbon standards

Working for strong EPA carbon standardsTo curb climate change, we must cut carbon pollution. At Clean Wisconsin, we’re working to ensure that the EPA develops strong yet reasonable carbon standards and that the state of Wisconsin and its stakeholders are on board.

In 2014, as a member of the Midwestern Power Sector Collaborative, Clean Wisconsin met with top officials at the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the EPA to give input on the EPA’s Clean Power Plan, which would help reduce carbon pollution from Wisconsin power plants by 34% of 2012 levels in 15 years.

Clean Wisconsin is strong supporter of the EPA’s first-ever carbon pollution standards released in 2014, which would reduce carbon pollution by 30% of 2005 levels by 2030. The limits represent a major step forward for clean air and clean energy, and we believe Wisconsin is well placed and prepared for those limits.
