Stop Construction of New Coal-Fired Power Plants:
Clean Wisconsin’s goal is to insure that Wisconsin does not permit additional conventional coal plants.

Take Action Now Clean Wisconsin aims to prevent outmoded pulverized coal plants from being built in Wisconsin. Coal plants pollute our lakes with mercury, pollute our air with soot and smog, contribute to global warming, and negatively affect the health of children and the elderly. We can do better. The technology is available to create less demand through efficiency and produce cleaner energy using the wind, the sun and agriculture products and byproducts. Clean Wisconsin is working hard to ensure our energy future does not rely on outdated technologies.

Help us fight the dirty coal plant proposed by Alliant Energy
There are practical alternatives to Alliant’s proposal to build a coal-burning power plant that are better for Wisconsin’s air, economy, the health of its citizens, and its quality of life. These alternatives use better, more up-to-date technology than Alliant’s proposed dirty, outdated coal plant, which – if built - will increase global warming emissions, have negative impacts on quality of life and public health, and not be an optimal choice for Wisconsin’s economy.
