Global Warming:
Reducing Wisconsin's contribution to global warming

Global warming presents both a problem and an opportunity for the state of Wisconsin. Although discernable impacts caused by global warming are becoming evident around the state, we have the technology, know-how, and resources for Wisconsin to reduce its global warming emissions while also putting us in the forefront of building an economically healthy new clean energy future.

There are many solutions to the global warming threat that are within reach. Some solutions can be put into practice in our daily lives; but we also need to implement policy at the state, regional and federal levels requiring a reduction of global warming emissions from power plants. Investments in clean energy technology is vital to help create an economically healthy energy future and reduce Wisconsin's contributions to global warming.

Clean Wisconsin's goal is to increase the state's investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy technology. Clean Wisconsin is fighting to retire and clean-up dirty old coal plants and is fighting against building more outdated technology coal plants. Clean Wisconsin is also working toward an 80 percent reduction in Wisconsin's global warming emissions by 2050 and established global warming emissions regulations by the end of 2009.
