Karen Knetter

Karen joined the Clean Wisconsin Board in 2014. She loves to hike, paddle and cross country ski, and takes advantage of Madison’s bike-friendly infrastructure to get around as much as possible. After moving from the northeast in 2002, Karen has held various leadership roles (schools and village), worked in special education, volunteered as a stream monitor for the Rock River Coalition, and currently teaches yoga and mindfulness.

She is a graduate of Stanford University in Applied Earth Sciences and Resources Planning. Previous to moving here she worked in environmental consulting for 10 years Vermont and New Hampshire on projects focused on transportation planning, traffic impact studies, and air quality modeling for private and public sector clients. There she served on several committees: Upper Valley Household Hazardous Waste, Hanover Recycling, and Hanover Conservation Council.

Karen considers Wisconsin home with her two daughters.
